OPandolfo is the solo-project of Olafur Josephsson.
Patterns was written and recorded various times from Dec 2021 to February 2023. Mixed and mastered by Olafur at his Vogor Studio in Feb.2023.
Acoustic guitars, live drums and bass are the main instruments used on this record along with some keyboard layers and some electric guitar here and there. 4 songs have vocals and the remaining songs are instrumentals. The original concept was to explore the raw sound of the acoustic guitar which eventually progressed into more structured songs with more instruments added along the way. The opening track Random Patterns is a clear example of this concept. Taking inspiration from minimalist repetitive patterns found in music made by the great Steve Reich & Terry Riley´s "In C" as well as elements from more traditional pop music.
